About Us
We know the world would be a better place with more female engineers.

Hello!

Do you also believe that women can change the world with their innovative ideas and engineering skills? We do too! However, it’s a big problem in today’s society that women are not pursuing engineering degrees in college, despite their early interest in STEM subjects.

At Womengineer, we’re on a mission to change that. We believe that the lack of female engineers is due to outdated norms and a general perception that engineering is too difficult. That’s why we created the Womengineer Foundation – to inspire and support women in pursuing engineering degrees and careers.

The lack of female engineers isn’t just an individual problem; it’s a problem for all of society. Schools, organizations, and companies are missing out on highly skilled female engineers, and innovations are suffering without the diversity of ideas and perspectives that women bring to the table.

But with your support, we can change that. Join us in empowering women to pursue their passions and make a difference in the world. Together, we can create a more diverse, innovative, and prosperous future.

Frequently asked questions

We are a Swedish non-profit organization with the mission to inspire girls and women in tech. The primary target audience for Womengineer is girls and non-binary individuals aged 13 to 19 years old, to which we for example arrange the annual event called Introduce a Girl to Engineering day (IGEday). In the secondary target group, we include women who are already pursuing an engineering degree or women who have completed their degree and are now working as engineers. Here is where the Womengineer Day event steps in!

The foundation’s main activities include the online platform Womengineer and the event called Introduce a Girl to Engineering day (IGEday). Other activities encompass all possible ways of interacting with the target audience and its stakeholders, both online and offline, such as talks and lectures directly towards the target audience or its stakeholders, and participation in fairs and conferences.
